The project was extended in 2016 to support African and Caribbean women as well as men aged 18+ with lived experience and the age-range now covers any participant of working age. Find out about our core support activities here >
Ultimately our services are geared towards building greater confidence and resilience, and the ability to function within society despite any ongoing mental health or wellbeing support needs.
Additionally, in 2020 The National Lottery Community Fund developed the Leaders with Lived Experience Pilot Programme supporting organisations set up or run by people with first-hand experience of a social issue, who are trying to create positive change for communities and people who share those experiences.
MASH was initially developed as a part of the Time to Change 300 Voices Project to support young African and Caribbean men with lived experience of mental health problems in Birmingham.
